MORE THAN 187,000 attended the National Ploughing Championships in New Ross over the past three days.

Today, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny joined 64,000 other visitors for the event.

During the day, a special presentation was made to RTÉ’s long-time agricultural correspondent Joe O’Brien.

As the site was dismantled and stalls taken down, organisers announced that next year’s festival will take place from 24 to 26 September 2013. The location is yet to be finalised but should be confirmed within the coming weeks.
