17-year-old girl among five arrested in organised crime crackdown

The arrests formed part of two ongoing Garda investigations.

FIVE PEOPLE, INCLUDING one teenage girl, were arrested in a series of searches by gardaí.

The searches were part of Operation Fiacla and an ongoing operation to combat Organised Crime in the Limerick area.

Gardaí from Henry St Garda Station, assisted by local gardaí and Gardaí from Tipperary and Clare carried out planned searches on a number of premises this morning in Limerick and Tipperary.

Five people were arrested, four men ranging in ages from 19 to 27 and one girl aged 17, during the operation and they are being detained under the provisions of Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Nenagh, Roxboro Road, Henry Street, Newcastle West and Shannon Garda Stations.
