Two teens, three juveniles arrested for smart phone robberies in Dublin

The three juveniles will appear before The Children Court tomorrow.

DUBLIN GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING a string of robberies in Dublin City Centre over Christmas have arrested five people.

The gang targeted the smart phones of teenage boys.

As part of a planned operation, gardaí conducted a number of searches in the Fairview, Finglas and Rathcoole areas of Dublin.

During the searches, three juveniles and two men in their late teens were arrested.

All five were detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street and Irishtown Garda Stations.

One of the adults has since been released without charge and the other has been charged in relation to the robberies and released on bail to appear at a future date.

The three juveniles have been charged in relation to these robberies and are scheduled to appear in the Children Court, Smithfield, Dublin tomorrow morning.
