1. #CASTLETROY: A body has been found by gardaí investigating a report of a missing person in Limerick. The discovery was made in the garden of a house at Briarfield in Castletroy.

2.#ATTACKS: German authorities have said most suspects in the mob violence that marred Cologne’s New Year’s Eve celebrations were asylum seekers, fuelling calls to quickly deport criminal migrants.

3. #LISTENING IN: Gerry Adams has said he always works on the basis that his phone is being tapped. The Sinn Féin president was speaking after independent TD Catherine Murphy revealed she has been using ‘throwaway’ mobile phones.

4. #ESCAPE: Two men have been charged in relation to prisoner Derek Brockwell escaping from Tallaght Hospital last year. The men, aged 32 and 58 years, were due to appear in court this morning

5. #OFF THE RAILS: The results of a ballot on industrial action by Luas drivers is expected to be announced later today, RTÉ News reports. The action, if any, is likely to take place next month.
