1. #ANGLO TRIAL: Sean Quinn Senior has told the trial of three former executives of Anglo Irish Bank that he considered the bank a “marvellous institution”, but said he was “involved in spending money stupidly”.

2. #HACKING: Justice Minister Alan Shatter has said he expects a “full report” into alleged  phone and internet bugging at the Office of the Garda Ombudsman Commission. He met with officials from the watchdog the afternoon.

3. #KEEPING IT REAL: Olympic silver medal boxer Kenny Egan has announced that he will be running as a Fine Gael candidate for Clondalkin in the local elections. He intends to focus on youth affairs, and emphasised the need to educate teenagers about alcohol.

4. #SEARCH: A body has been recovered in West Cork in a search by the Coast Guard for two missing Dutch men. The men were reported missing yesterday after they failed to return home after a walk.

5. #INDUSTRIAL ACTION: SIPTU members at Dublin Airport Authority have voted overwhelmingly for strike action as a long-running row over a pensions deficit comes to a head.
