GOOD EVENING

The 5 at 5 5 minutes, 5 stories, 5 o’clock…

EACH EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you the five stories you need to know.

1. There was a heavy Garda presence this afternoon as around 150 anti-water charge protesters marched on RTÉ.

2. A man has appeared in court in Omagh, charged with the murder of Barney McGinley at a wedding in Co Fermanagh last month.

3. The Sinn Féin Ard Fheis continues. Mary Lou McDonald was one of the main speakers earlier, telling delegates that Labour deputy leader Alan Kelly had her ‘quaking in her stilettos’.

4. The Irish Naval Service has kicked off a recruitment campaign. 80 new recruits are being sought.

5. Two mummified bodies have been found on Mexico’s highest peak. Their discovery could put an end to the mystery of climbers who vanished after an avalanche in 1959.
