3. #SHARP EDGE: Nineteen-year-old Jordan Buckley, of Kells Road, Crumlin, is charged with possession of a sword at Leinster House yesterday – a court heard today that he had “no target in mind”.

4. #NOT HAPPY: The director of the Insolvency Service had a go at Bank of Ireland today for opposing debt writedown arrangements with struggling customers. Meanwhile, Central Bank chief Patrick Honohan warned that we have to stick to austerity – or lose any chance of economic recovery.

5. #ET TU? Was Martin Callinan “effectively sacked” from his job as Garda Commissioner “on a political whim”? Garda Representative Association head PJ Stone thinks so.
