Four to appear in court over 12 July disorder

One man (20) was arrested on suspicion of assaulting police, but was released pending a report.

FOUR MEN ARE to appear in court in connection with crimes that occurred on 12 July.

The PSNI did not say whether the men were involved with marches for the Twelfth.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with disorderly behaviour, resisting arrest and two counts of assault on police.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday 14 July, charged in relation to an incident at Sandy Row, South Belfast area on Saturday 12 July.

Three males aged 33, 28 and 20 have also been charged with disorderly behaviour and will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday 8 August.

They were arrested and charged in relation to reports of disorder at the Botanic Avenue, Great Victoria Street and Donegall Pass, South Belfast areas yesterday.

Finally, a 20-year-old male who was arrested on suspicion of assault on police and disorderly behaviour following a report of an incident at the Botanic Avenue, South Belfast area yesterday has been released pending a report to the PPS.
