FORMER FINE GAEL strategist Frank Flannery has told the Public Accounts Committee to communicate directly with him, instead of the media.
In a letter to the committee, Flannery said that he was keen to ‘disabuse the misconception’ that he and PAC were at an impasse.
Flannery is a former CEO of the Rehab Group and was belatedly invited to answer questions before PAC last month. Rehab had decided not to bring him as part of their delegation, but his absence sparked controversy when it emerged that he had been in Leinster House at the time of the hearing.
In his letter to the committee, written last week, Flannery says that he is yet to receive any communication from PAC, saying that all he had heard was media reports. He asks members to email him or send a letter to his home if they wish to invite him before the committee.
He adds that he will cooperate with PAC, once he knows the agenda items that they wish to discuss with him.
