'Fat Freddie' Thompson charged over Dublin murder

FREDDIE THOMPSON, OFTEN known as “Fat Freddie”, has been charged over the murder of a father of one.

David Douglas was shot a number of times by a lone gunman as he stood in the doorway of his wife’s shop on Bridgefoot Street in Dublin’s south inner city in July of this year.

Thompson was arrested in connection with the murder on Tuesday and this evening he was charged at a Dublin garda station.

His arrest came as he was travelling from the north of the country by car.

The 35-year-old will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice at Parkgate Street on Monday morning.
