Controversial proposal to strip convicted terrorists of French nationality passed

It’s one of a tough set of measures proposed by President Francois Hollande.

FRENCH LAWMAKERS HAVE voted to include the stripping of nationality for convicted terrorists in the constitution.

France’s lower house or parliament voted through the proposal tonight.

It follows in the wake of the jihadist attacks in Paris on November 13 that killed 130 people.

The measure was passed by a show of hands.

The amendment of the constitution comes after weeks of debate and is one of a tough set of measures proposed by President Francois Hollande.
