Galway trainer gives emotional Ted Talk on how every conversation can change a life

The instructor described how at one stage he found himself so broke in Dublin that he couldn’t afford the €12 bus fare to get back home to Galway on Christmas Eve.

GALWAY TRAINER PAT Divilly gave an emotionally charged speech for his Ted Talk on how every conversation can change a life.

The instructor described how at one stage he found himself so broke in Dublin that he couldn’t afford the €12 bus fare to get back home to Galway on Christmas Eve.

However, the fitness expert has turned his life around and his client base has grown from five to 5,000 in just three years.

Last year he brought 540 people to take part in Tough Mudder and raised a record €165,000 for Cystic Fibrosis in the process.

Divilly speaks about one conversation in particular that instilled belief in himself and prompted him to give his dream another go and describes how he now tries to instil that belief in others around him:

The world is a mirror and when you go out there smile at people and take an interest in people … believe in people when you don’t believe in yourself then your whole world changes.
