GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED two men in relation to the attempted murder of two police officers in Derry in 2015.
The PSNI said that two men had been arrested by gardaí under a European Arrest Warrant as part of a joint operation.
The men (aged 29 and 32) were arrested in Dublin in connection with the attempted murder of two police officers at Eglinton, Derry on 18 June, 2015.
In the incident in question, a viable bomb was left under a police officer’s car which was parked outside the home he shared with his wife, who is also a police officer.
The bomb was discovered and later defused by army technical officers.
Five men were arrested following the incident but all were released without charge.
The two men were due to appear this morning before the High Court in Dublin.
