GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING to the public for assistance in locating two missing persons.
Caitriona Horan, 22, of Tawnylea, Drumkeeran, Co Leitrim, was last seen outside Trinity College on Wednesday, 11 February.
She was wearing a dark grey (tweed effect) single-breasted winter jacket from Zara, black tights or leggings and black ‘Shuh’ boots.
She is described as being 5′ 5″ in height, slim build, and has dark brown hair and eyes.
Her family spoke to the Irish Daily Mail about their concerns for Caitriona, who was last seen by a friend at the gates of Trinity at around 5.15pm on Wednesday. She did not arrive at her sister’s home in Ashtown as planned that night, and her phone had been turned off.
The paper reports that the following morning, her phone was briefly switched on and a text saying: “If anybody asks, tell them I am fine. Don’t hate me”, was sent to a friend of hers just before noon. Some money was also withdrawn from her account via an ATM that morning.
Gardaí said this afternoon that they now believe she is the Ennis area of Co Clare. They are asking anyone who has any information regarding Caitriona’s whereabouts to contact them on 071 982 0620
Separately, gardaí are also working to locate Shay Prendergast, who was last seen at his home in Knockmore, Wexford Road, Arklow, Co Wicklow, at 7pm on Saturday.
The 59-year-old was wearing green pants and a heavy green jacket at that time.
He is described as being 5′ 10” tall, of medium build and has blue eyes. He also wears glasses and is balding with grey hair to the sides.
Gardaí in Arklow are appealing to anyone who may have seen Shay since 7pm Saturday evening, or has information about his location, to contact them on 0402 26320.
