FORTUNE MAGAZINE’S Global 500 has broken down the top 500 international companies by revenue and taken a look at where the world’s biggest corporations are based.
While the U.S. continues to dominate the ranking, China continued to gain share. In the past year it added 12 companies to Fortune’s list; to qualify in 2012 a firm had to report top line results of at least $22 billion last year.
Meanwhile two of the companies in the top 500 are listed as having Dublin headquarters…
Number 405: Accenture, based at Grand Canal Square employs 236,000 people around the world. Accenture specialises in consultancy, technology and outsourcing and began operating in Ireland in 1969.
Almost 1,300 people are employed by the company in Ireland.
Number 435: CRH (or Cement Roadstone Holdings), based at Belgard Castle in Dublin 22 is a building materials company which has made its fortune by expanding into China and acquiring a number of international companies.
