Gsoc is looking, in particular, to speak to a woman who was seen leaving a nearby restaurant and the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle.

In an appeal issued today, Gsoc said the incident its officers are investigating involves the arrest of a man by a number of gardaí in The Square, Newcastle West, on the night/early hours of 11 and 12 November.

In particular, Gsoc would like to hear from a young woman seen on CCTV walking out of a restaurant at around 1am as the incident was unfolding nearby.

Investigators would also like to hear from the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle parked at The Square at the time of the arrest.
