Two men arrested after hijacking car from man in his 70s

The elderly man was assaulted during the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital.

POLICE IN FOYLE have arrested two males after a report of a vehicle hijacking in the Bonds Hill area, Foyle in Northern Ireland last night.

At around 8.30pm, it was reported that two males, aged 21 and 24-years-old approached a car driving in the area.

Assault

A male driver, believed to have been in his 70s was assaulted during the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital for his injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of hijacking, grievious bodily harm with intent and other offences. They are both currently assisting police with their enquiries.
