HIQA investigations cost more than €1 million

The four investigations were carried out by the Health Information and Quality Authority.

THE COST OF the four major Healthy Information and Quality Authority investigations into patient safety is €1.2 million.

June Shannon writes in the Medical Independent that legal costs for all investigations came to €570,300 while the publication of the reports came to €65,647.

The investigations included reviews of the serious safety concerns at the Mid Western Regional Hospital and Mallow General Hospital.
