Buying a new home? Join us for exclusive tips and advice on finding the right place

Come to our rescheduled Home Series Event on March 12 for insights and more.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS event has been rescheduled from the original date of March 1 due to adverse weather. It will now take place on Monday, March 12.

Which Dublin neighbourhoods are still good value for buyers? And which have lost the run of themselves?

How can you get an edge in the market? What’s the best way through the mortgage minefield? What’s the difference between a fixer-upper and a may-as-well-give-upper?

Buying a home is stressful, and there are a lot of tricky questions along the way. That’s why we’re bringing together some of Ireland’s leading experts to answer all of the conundrums above – and more – at an informal evening event on the rescheduled date of Monday, March 12 designed especially for house hunters and buyers.

At the Home Series Event with KBC Bank and TheJournal.ie, you’ll get insights on the best-value neighbourhoods in the country right now. There will also be insider tips from estate agents and advice on the best way to turn a house into your dream home. (Plus, wine and soft drinks.)

Tickets to the rescheduled event on Monday, March 12 at the Mansion House in Dublin are completely free. All you have to do is register by sending an email with your name and contact details to events@thejournal.ie with the subject line ‘Home Series Event’.

If you have already registered for the March 1 event, you will still be on the list for the rescheduled date. Please let us know by email if you cannot attend.

Attendees will also have the chance to try out the groundbreaking VR technology being used to explore properties as part of the Experience Your World partnership with KBC and TheJournal.ie.

The speakers on the night will be:

  • Ronan Lyons, chief economist at Daft.ie, on how to find the right neighbourhood right now -  popular areas and those that are up-and-coming
  • Sarah Ridge, hub manager at KBC Bank, on demystifying the mortgage process and the best way to pick a path through it
  • Mark Stafford, DNG estate agents, on how to stay one step ahead in the Dublin market
  • Frances Crean of Organised Mayhem on how to search for and view homes with military precision

Before and after the talks, attendees can enjoy refreshments and try out a full VR experience. Mortgage experts, solicitors, and a team from Daft.ie will also be on hand to answer any further questions.
