What can I get around Ireland for... €250,000 or less?

Our pick of budget-friendly homes, from a spacious Limerick three-bed to a Dublin duplex.

IT CAN BE difficult to try and find that dream home, especially if you’re working on a smaller budget than you’d like. But worry not – we’ve got a solution.

Each week, we give you a taster of what’s available for your budget in Ireland right now, from apartments to larger homes. This week, we’re looking at properties that will cost you less than €250,000.

Here’s what’s on offer on the market right now…

Castletroy, Co Limerick — €245,000

Number 14, Ashfort is a three-bedroom, open-plan home that has lots of space for a growing family, and it’s only a ten-minute drive from the city centre, too. Number 14 overlooks a green space outside, and gets lots of sun.

Inside, the kitchen is the star of the show. Walk through the open archway, and you’ll spot solid granite counters, French doors leading outside, and a utility room for extra storage. Upstairs, all three bedrooms have built in wardrobes, and the master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom as well as a bright bay window.

Coming to the market in turnkey condition, 43 Riverwalk is a beautiful semi-detached home just a ten minute walk from the centre of Midleton town. The home is cosy and inviting, with three bedrooms upstairs and a fully tiled shower room.

The kitchen of the property is spacious, and features a breakfast bar for on-the-go dining. Outside, there’s a sizeable garden, and a concrete built shed. Midleton itself is a lovely area, ideal for commuters and with plenty of schools, shops and restaurants within walking distance of the development.

Number 3, Parkview Close is a three-bedroom duplex apartment inside a gated development that provides spacious living close to Dublin city – a regular bus service runs nearby. The apartment is a great choice for first-time buyers, or those looking to invest.

There is an open-plan kitchen/living room, and a utility room off that, as well as a bedroom which could easily be used as a study downstairs. Upstairs, the master double bedroom has access to an en-suite bathroom, and the second double bedroom has a balcony which overlooks the courtyard.

Corbally, Co Limerick — €198,500

The second Limerick property on the list sits on the Limerick-Clare border. It’s half an hour from the city centre, and 45 minutes from Ennis. The location is peaceful, too: 16 The Moorings is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet development.

There are three bedrooms, as well as another room, currently used as a study, that is ripe for conversion. The kitchen/dining area is separate from the pleasant lounge area, which, like the rest of the house, has been lovingly maintained by the current owners. The sale of the house includes the carpets, curtains, blinds, integrated fridge/freezer and oven, too.
