WE CAN THINK of worse ways to spend a Monday.
Hot air balloons took to the skies of Bristol in England today at the start of the 34th International Balloon Fiesta taking place in the city.
Balloonists – yes, that’s the technical term – from all around the world will gather at what is the largest balloon event in Europe. Here’s a taster:

I grew up in Bristol and the Balloon Fiesta was always a major highlight of the year. Absolutely amazing!
Me too Felicity!!! The 6am starts weren’t great getting up to Ashton Court to see the morning take offs but it was worth it!! We had a few low ones over our house too! It’d be great to see a similar event in Ireland – unless there already is if someone can tell me !!
At least they know how to actually deliver a proper balloon festival, ever been to the one in trim? Bloody awful! Rip off prices rip off car parking charges rip off food vendors and always stupidly loud rave music from 7 am in the morning and somehow they always manage to put it on the worst possible weather so 2 balloons actually take to the skies at most, yes I went twice but never again!!
