St Patrick's Day

How will you celebrate St Patrick's Day?

According to a survey, the majority of people responding will celebrate by “getting drunk” – most probably on green beer.

IT’S JUST TWO days away, so we want to know – what have you planned for St Patrick’s Day?

American-based website Mashable has done a (probably not the most scientific, but we don’t think St Patrick will mind) survey of 405 social network users to find out how they will be celebrating on Thursday.

According to Mashable:

  • 75% of people say they celebrate St Patrick’s Day while 25% of people say St Paddy’s Day – with no mention of ‘St Patty’s Day’
  • In total, 90% of people will celebrate the day, leaving us to wonder what the remaining 10% are up to.
  • Perhaps somewhat unsurprisingly, the majority of people said they would celebrate by “getting drunk”
  • 21% of men and 1o% of women will drink a green beer on St Patrick’s Day
  • 17% of men and 20% of women will order a green Shamrock Shake from McDonalds
  • 36% of men and 17% of women said they’d wear a t-shirt saying ’5% Irish, 95% drunk’. Classy
  • 18% of men and 22% of women will eat some corned beef to celebrate their Irishness
  • 53% of people responding claim that they’re Irish- a small minority of whom admit they don’t have any green blood in them at all.
