DARING AND SPECTACULAR, as well as acrobatic and technically complex, diving is one of the most popular spectator sports at the summer Olympic Games.

Londoners are getting a taste of the precision expected this July and August as the 18th annual FINA Visa Diving World Cup gets underway at the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park.

And even if you don’t know your Tom Daley’s from your Alexandre Despatie’s, you will still enjoy the spectacular shots captured by the sport’s photographers.

Over 220 divers from 40 countries are taking part in the world cup from 20 February to 26 February. The competition is both a qualifying and test event for the 2012 Olympic Games. It is the main opportunity for competitors to familiarise themselves with the London facilities and compare their progress with fellow divers.
