WHATEVER ELSE YOU can say about Ireland, it’s still a photographer’s paradise. The stunning photographic prints you’ll see in our slideshow below are going up for auction tomorrow evening to commemorate a talented photographer and to fund a youth centre in Trim, Co Meath.
Danny O’Brien, a former chairman of Trim Town Council, photographer and community worker, died suddenly in work last year. At the time he had been securing funding for the RAY Club (Raise Above Yourself) in Trim, a youth centre “where teenagers can meet in a non-judgemental, safe and friendly environment”. His friends and the photographic community have organised a day for photography lovers tomorrow in Trim which will culminate at 6.30pm in an auction of prints donated by the photographer colleagues, including some of Danny’s own work (our main article image is by Danny).
The TrimPrintAuction has given us permission to reproduce a selection of those up for auction. You can bid for the works through email too (click here for all the details). We’re getting ours in for the one of Bertie clutching a brown envelope. No, we’re not implying anything.
