In pictures: today’s bizarre weather

Forget about four seasons a year. We’re getting four seasons a day, it seems.

SUN. CHECK. RAIN. Check. Thunder & lightning. Check.

We have no idea what’s going on weather-wise but today has brought the changeable weather that the good folk over at Met Éireann had predicted.

Bright blue skies were replaced by dark, ominous-looking clouds. The Meteo Times kindly sent TheJournal.ie its photo-log of the day, which shows how the people of Leitrim were basking in glorious sun while those in the capital ran for shelter from some “driving rain”.

And it doesn’t look like this afternoon will be the end of it. Forecasters are expecting the unsettled and changeable conditions to continue through the end of the week with “very wet weather” sweeping in off the Atlantic overnight on Thursday. This will continue to affect the island during Friday.
