23-year-old Irish man found dead in China

The 23-year-old had been working in China when he went missing on Monday night.

THE BODY OF a 23-year-old Irish man has been found in China, five days after he went missing.

The man has been named as Robert McHale from Galway.

He had last been seen at midnight local time on Monday night in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, where he lived.

His family and friends had posted messages on a number of message boards about his disappearance and a search had been ongoing in the area.

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that consular assistance is being provided to his family.

It is not yet known whether his death was suspicious.
