Staff threatened with iron bar during cash-in-transit robbery at Clare Hall Shopping Centre

One man has been arrested following the incident.

ONE MAN HAS been arrested by gardaí following a robbery at Clare Hall Shopping Centre on the Malahide Road in Dublin.

Just after noon today, a man armed with an iron bar threatened a cash-in-transit employee. He took a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money. He made his escape in a waiting car.

During a follow-up operation, gardaí from Coolock arrested a 20-year-old man. He is currently being questioned at the local garda station.

The car used in the raid was found a short distance from the scene and has been preserved for a technical examination.

The cash box has not been recovered and investigations continue.
