1. #ANGLO: Three former employees have been jailed for their part in a “deceitful and corrupt” €7 billion deception at the former Anglo Irish Bank, which made the bank’s books look healthier than they actually were.

2. #REFERENDUM: Two-thirds of voters would back a united Ireland if a referendum were held tomorrow, a new poll has found. The Paddy Power/Red C poll found 65% of people would vote in favour – an increase of a previous poll which showed support was at 57%.

3. #WARNINGS: Hospitals across the country have been put on alert after at least five deaths in Cork and Dublin which are believed to be linked to the lethal drug fentanyl. The drug is 600 times more powerful than morphine and is sold as a ‘designer’ heroin.

4. #ZIKA: The first cases of the Zika virus in the US among patients who have not travelled outside the country have been confirmed in Florida. The infection is believed to have been spread by mosquitoes in the Miami area.

5. #COURTS: A man facing sexual assault charges in the UK has argued that he should not be extradited because of the Brexit vote. The man’s lawyer told the High Court that there is no guarantee that the 78-year-old’s trial would take place pre-Brexit.
