THERE WAS A standing ovation last night for Lady Gaga after her emotional performance of Til It Happens To You.

The song was composed for The Hunting Ground, a documentary about sexual assault on US college campuses.

It had been nominated for an Oscar and though it didn’t win, Gaga’s rendition was a massive hit, as she was joined at the end of the performance by a group of woman and men who had been victims of sexual assault.

There were tears from some members of the audience as the group stood with Gaga on stage, with slogans like ‘It happened to me’ and ‘Not your fault’ written on their arms. And when it was over, everyone was on their feet.
