No, it only happens when all the conditions are right. The Kp level must be above 4 at least (the level the aurora is measured in), the moon has to be very dark or not there at all, the skies have to be clear and you need to be as far away from light pollution as possible. Plus they can only predict it 60 mins before so you have to be checking it regularly, i check it here http://www.softservenews.com/Aurora.htm

Expect to see this in Dublin and further south towards the end of year and begining of next year as the sun enters a solar maximum. Thats if the clouds fcuk off.

I’d love to see it but live down country I plugged in details to aa route planner malin head and the fuel calculator for my 1.6 l came back at 220 euro plus accom food etc it could be a 500 euro trip and the lights may not even show !!!
