THE FUNERAL OF an Irish nurse who was killed in a car crash in Australia has taken place in Dublin today.

Laura Neville died in a head-on collision close to Alice Springs fifteen days ago. Her body was flown back to her family in Dublin for her funeral and burial.

The young nurse had graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2009 and had been working in Australia.

Laura had been travelling with a work colleague in a hospital vehicle when the fatal collision happened at 2.30pm on Sunday 16 February. Three other people – including her colleague – were seriously injured in the crash, which happened around 90 kilometres west of Alice Springs.

Her funeral service took place at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Ballyfermot this morning before she was buried at Palmerstown Cemetery.

A death notice posted on RIP.ie said that she would be missed by her mother, two sisters, extended family, and a wide circle of friends in Ireland and Australia.
