LIMERICK CITY AND County Council is advising motorists to exercise caution due to a 60 kilometre-long oil spill from Abbeyfeale in West Limerick to Limerick city.

Council crews and Limerick Fire and Rescue Service are working to deal with the incident.

LIMERICK: Fuel spill on N21 from Newcastle West through to M20/ M7 interchange. Also affecting the N18/ Ennis Rd & Condell Rd in the city.

The oil spill emanated from the back of a truck heading east from Abbeyfeale. The council initially said the truck was travelling west, but later updated this information.

It has not yet been able to locate the vehicle involved.
