Man shot in Limerick by gunman on a bicycle

A 22-year-old has been arrested.

GARDAÍ HAVE MADE an arrest after a man approached a premises on a bicycle and shot another man in Limerick yesterday.

The incident happened shortly after 2pm at Hyde Road when the lone man discharged a firearm and injured another 42-year-old man.

The injured man was taken to Limerick University Hospital with his injuries being described as non-life threatening.

Later, gardaí arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the incident and also recovered a gun and ammunition.

The man is currently being held at Roxboro Garda Station where he can be held for a maximum of 72 hours.
