Revenue is receiving €1.5m a day in Property Tax payments

This is double the €700,000 paid per day at the start of last week.

THE RATE AT which home-owners are paying their Local Property Tax is rapidly increasing, figures released today by the Revenue Commissions show.

With little over a week left before the deadline for payment of the tax, €1.5 million is being received every day.

This is double the amount recorded at the start of last week by Revenue.

The compliance rate has also risen slightly for this year, up to percentage points to 85 per cent, with 60,000 returns received.

“Over 1,700 debit/credit card payments were made yesterday alone, the busiest day for card payments since last November,” a statement read.

Revenue have warned that those who do not pay before March 31 could incur penalties and interest, and last week revealed the system officials will use to track down undervalued homes.
