Poll: Would you trust a (male) newsreader with long hair?

After the BBC ordered him to get a haircut business journalist Robert Peston is set to move to ITV.

IT’S BEING REPORTED this morning that BBC economics correspondent Robert Peston is to move to ITV as their new political editor.

Peston’s business reporting during the financial crisis of 2008 saw him become something of a household name, but more recently he’s made headlines for more hirsute reasons – specifically the BBC ordered him to get a haircut, and he refused.

Whether or not the length of his locks will be an issue (or a requirement) in his new role is not yet known.

But is the hair-length of those men who deliver your news to you important? If Bryan Dobson grew his hair out would you be able to trust him?

We’re asking: Would you trust a (male) newsreader who had long hair?

Poll Results:

Yes, absolutely (5524)
I'd be suspicious of his motives (888)
No, not a chance (882)
