23-year-old due in court over Longford cannabis seizure

The man was arrested yesterday at the scene where cannabis herb worth an estimated €120,000 was found.

A 23-YEAR-old man is due in court this evening charged in connection with a cannabis seizure in Longford yesterday.

The seizure of six kilos of cannabis herb, with a street value of €120,000, was made yesterday morning in a joint operation by gardaí and the Revenue Customs Service at a house in Legan.

It is believed that the drugs originated from Canada. The 23-year-old was arrested at the scene and was detained overnight at Longford garda station.

He will appear before a special sitting of Longford District Court at around 8.30pm this evening.
