Two men in court over Macetown oil laundering find

The young men, aged 19 and 20 years old, will appear before Navan District Court this morning.

TWO MEN WILL be charged in connection with the discovery of an oil laundering plant in Meath at court today.

The accused, aged 19 and 20 years old, will appear before Navan District Court at 10.30am.

Gardaí and Revenue uncovered the facility at Macetown in Rathfeigh yesterday evening. They believe the large-scale operation had the capacity to produce 3 million litres of laundered fuel per year, depriving the Exchequer of €1.5 million per annum in lost taxes.

Fuel and related equipment was also seized by gardaí.
