Male cyclist dies in Co Kerry collision

The cyclist was struck by a mini bus on the Tralee to Killarney road last night.

GARDAÍ IN KILLARNEY are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Kilcummin Cross on the Tralee to Killarney road at approximately 9.45pm last night.

A male cyclist in his late 60s was fatally injured when he was struck by a mini bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Tralee General Hospital. Gardaí say the driver and sole occupant of the mini bus was uninjured.

The main Tralee - Killarney road is closed in both directions at Kilcummin Cross to facilitate an examination by garda forensic collision investigators, and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064 6671160, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
