Man arrested in connection with Gareth Hutch murder

The 30-year-old is being questioned in relation to the fatal shooting last month.

A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with the murder of Gareth Hutch last month.

Gardaí arrested a 30-year-old man this morning in relation to the fatal shooting in inner city Dublin on 24 May, they said in a statement.

He is currently being detained in a city centre station.

Father-of-one Gareth Hutch (35), a nephew of Gerry “the Monk” Hutch, was gunned down outside Avondale House flats, where he lived, on North Cumberland Street.

Two men approached him in the car park of the complex as he was entering his car.

A number of shots were fired and the men attempted to leave the scene in a BMW but soon after got out and made their escape on foot.

It was the latest and seventh fatality in a wave of killings in a feud between rival Kinahan and Hutch crime gangs.

Two people have already appeared before the courts in connection with the murder.

Comments are closed as the cases mentioned are before the courts.
