A 30-YEAR-old man was discovered at Fairgreen, Saggart, Co. Dublin with a gun-shot wound to his leg at around 12.15 a.m.
He was taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
A male aged in his 30s was arrested a short time later by investigating GardaÃ. He is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act,1939, at Lucan Garda Station.
The scene is preserved pending a full technical examination and inquiries are ongoing.
