Skerries accused appears in court

The man appeared before a special sitting of the Criminal Courts of Justice today.

THE MAN ACCUSED of murdering Michael Gannon in Skerries on Thursday evening has appeared in court charged with murder.

The man appeared before a special sitting of the Criminal Courts of Justice today.

Murder

The man, in his late 20s, is accused of stabbing Michael Gannon as he babysat his grandchildren at his daughter’s home in Mourne Park in the coastal Dublin town.

Mr Gannon is believed to have been stabbed once in the chest.

RTE Six One News reports the man has been remanded in custody.
