Man set to appear in court over carjacking at knife point

The incident occurred yesterday in Palmerstown.

A MAN IS due in court in Blanchardstown tomorrow morning charged in connection with a carjacking attack in Palmerstown.

The incident took place on Saturday morning and saw a taxi driver in his late fifties being forced from his car after being threatened and assaulted. This happened in the car park of a shopping centre in Palmerstown.

The car from the incident left driving in the direction of the N4.

The taxi driver sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The 31-year-old male who is set to appear in court was intercepted by members of the Regional Support Unit in Maynooth, Co Kildare shortly before 8.00 am yesterday.

The man is currently being held at Lucan Garda Station and the investigation is ongoing.

The man will appear before the District Court tomorrow.
