Man dies in Roscommon fire

The 49-year-old was the only person in the house at the time.

A 49-YEAR-OLD MAN has died in a housefire in a Roscommon farmhouse.

Gardai in Roscommon are investigating the fire at the farm in Coolshaghtena, Weekfield, Roscommon.

The fire was reported at around 8.45pm last night. A 49-year-old man was fatally injured in the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the house at the time of the fire.

The house has been sealed off for a technical examination and the body remains at the scene.
