Man dies after 4x4 crashes into signpost in Kerry

The 51-year-old man was brought to Kerry General Hospital but was pronounced dead some two hours after the crash.

A 51-YEAR-OLD MAN has died after the 4×4 he was driving crashed into a signpost in Kerry last night.

The crash happened at around 8.4opm last night at Shrone East in Listowel.

The man, who was the only occupant of the car, was brought to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee to be treated for his injuries, but he was pronounced dead at 11pm.

The section of the road where the crash happened is closed this morning to allow forensic investigators to carry out an examination of the scene.

Gardaí in Listowel have called for any witnesses to the crash to contact Listowel Garda Station on 068 50820, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
