Man released as investigation into Tallaght stabbing incident continues

The man was questioned over the stabbing of five men in south Dublin on Sunday morning.

THE MAN WHO was arrested in connection with the stabbing of five men in Tallaght in the early hours of Sunday morning has been released from custody.

Gardaí have confirmed that the 44-year-old man was released late last night without charge and that a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The man had been held in connection with the attack at Deer Park Avenue just after 4am on Sunday morning in which five men were injured.

The men – three aged in their late teens, one in his 20s, and one in his 40s – were taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital with suspected stab wounds.

A sixth man was treated for head injuries at St James’s Hospital.

Gardaí say their investigation continues and have asked anyone with any information to contact Tallaght Garda Station  on 01 666 6000, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
