Driver released without charge after Abbey Street traffic fatality

A woman in her 50s died and a man was injured after a car crashed into them on Abbey Street in Dublin city centre on Friday.

A MAN IN his 30s who was arrested in connection with the death of a pedestrian hit by a car in Dublin city centre on Friday has been released without charge.

Gardaí this afternoon confirmed that the man, who was the driver of the car, has been released from Store Street Garda Station where he was being questioned.

A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
