Man shot dead in Balbriggan this morning - woman also hit

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A MAN WAS shot dead in Balbriggan, north Dublin shortly after 9 o’clock this morning.

The man – aged in his mid 30’s – was shot on Clonard Street.

A woman was also shot on the upper thigh during the incident.

She has been removed to Beaumont Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

The scene at Balbriggan is being preserved pending a Garda technical examination.

The office of the State Pathologists office has been notified.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01-802 0510, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
