Man arrested after teenager shot at War Memorial Gardens in Dublin

An 18-year-old man is in a critical but stable condition after being shot this afternoon.

A 19-YEAR-OLD MAN has been arrested by Gardaí investigating the shooting of a teenager at the National War Memorial Gardens in Dublin this afternoon.

The man was arrested in Dublin this evening and is being questioned at Kilmainham Garda Station.

Meanwhile the 18-year-old victim remains in a critical but stable condition in St James’s Hospital in Dublin.

The shooting happened at around 3pm at the Memorial Park in Dublin 8, close to the Phoenix Park.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious near the footbridge on the Con Colbert Road side of Memorial Park at around 3pm to contact Kilmainham Garda Station on 01 – 666 9700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
