Martin McGuinness urges Enda Kenny and David Cameron to endorse Haass proposals

Sinn Féin approved the Haass recommendations yesterday.

THE DEPUTY FIRST Minister of Northern Ireland said yesterday that David Cameron and Enda Kenny should endorse the recommendations from the Haass talks.

McGuinness took to Twitter following Sinn Féin publically backing the proposals on Northern Ireland set out by US diplomat Richard Haass, stating that both Prime Minister David Cameron and Taoiseach Enda Kenny should also publically back the recommendations.

Yesterday, following Sinn Fein’s Ard Comhairle meeting, party president Gerry Adams said  that while they didn’t get everything that they wanted, Sinn Féin was happy to endorse the proposals and move on.

The focus will now move to the North’s unionist and Alliance parties, who have so far rejected the proposals set out by Haass.
