Four arrested after gardaí seize €300k-worth of cannabis and cocaine

Three men and one woman were arrested after searches in two counties.

FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after gardaí seized drugs with an estimated street value of €300,000 in Meath and Louth.

The operation, led by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, was targeting serious criminal activity in the two counties.

Gardaí seized approximately 13 kilos of cannabis herb when they intercepted and searched a number of vehicles near Ashbourne this afternoon. A follow-up search was later carried out at an address in Drogheda where a further 1.5 kilos of cannabis herb was recovered, along with a quantity of cocaine.

Three men, aged in their 20s, 30s and 50s, and a woman in her 50s have been arrested as part of the investigation.

They are currently being detained under drug trafficking legislation at Finglas and Drogheda garda stations and can be held for up to seven days.

The investigation is ongoing.
